We are proud to introduce our scholarship winner, Finn Ferris, whose dedication to teaching and volunteerism has truly inspired us.
“My decision to become a high school English teacher was shaped by my early experiences with community service, starting in Little League. I began volunteering with Challenger Baseball, an organization that gives children with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for helping others. Since then, I have focused my volunteer service to helping underprivileged and disabled children. During my senior year of high school, I continued this commitment by serving as a tutor and Special Olympics coach for one of my school’s Special Day Classes. Every day, I look forward to working with the students, building relationships, and supporting their growth. I have grown to truly care about them, and they know it. These experiences solidified my desire to become an educator, allowing me to give back to my community and make a meaningful impact on the lives of my future students.”
