Are you going to be spending time outdoors this summer? Beware the dangers of the sun!
Have you ever had a terribly red and painful sunburn? That same sunburn can happen to the corneas of your eyes if you don’t protect yourself from the sun’s UV rays!
Be sun-smart this summer by following these three, easy steps to protect your eyes:
1. Wear high quality sunglasses with UV protection when venturing outdoors.
High quality doesn’t mean they have to be overly expensive or super dark. Just be sure to check if they’re rated to block UVA and UVB rays.
2. Wear a hat or wide brim cap.
Wear a hat to protect your eyes and be sure to take breaks in the shade from the sun.
3. Never stare directly into the sun.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but make sure you never stare directly into the sun without protective eye-wear, especially during a solar eclipse!
It’s important in the coming summer months to be extra protective of your eyes from UV ray damage from the sun so keep these three tips in mind.
